Medical Technologist

The Medical Technologist is responsible for performing a wide variety of technical and clerical duties associated with one or more of the following lab sections: Clinical Chemistry, Hematology/Coagulation, Microbiology, Serology, Urinalysis, and Blood Bank. The Medical Technologist obtains and receives specimens, performs testing using standardized procedures, understands methods, principles, and theories, performs quality control, performs preventative maintenance, and interprets results as to accuracy and acceptability. The Medical Technologist works independently and organizes work to meet deadlines and record all data obtained.

This position reports to the Director, Laboratory Services, under the direction of the section supervisor, and operates within established organizational and departmental policies and procedures.

The individual in this position will primarily be working in the Blood Bank, with potential to cross train into Core Lab. This position will work on the day shift, Monday - Friday, with rotating weekends and holidays. Competitive compensation and full benefits will be offered.
  • Blood Banking experience (within the previous 3 years)
  • Work a rotating schedule - nights/weekends
  • • Bachelor’s degree and Bachelor’s level ASCP certification (e.g. MT, BB, etc.) or equivalent registration or application for registration required (registration requirements must be met within one year of employment); Associates degree and MLT level ASCP certification may be considered depending on experience. Relevant educational transcripts will be required
