Working under direct supervision of the SMOC Supervisor and coordinating with other technical teams including vendor teams to support the monitoring and sustainment of the metering network, infrastructure and the devices along with the timely and accurate daily processing of meter reading exceptions.
Monitoring the AMI Network and identify network deficiencies via reports, real time data or outside processes/parties.
Diagnosing basic causes of trouble when interruptions occur in meter or network communication issues and utilizing prescribed procedures to determine steps to be taken to restore communication.
Interpreting and analyzing system data to investigate OpenWay meters, Cisco Grid Routers and Range Extenders and determining validity of exceptions which includes identifying the issue, reviewing key data elements and determining required next steps.
Creating trouble tickets and routing to appropriate group for resolution based on exception type.
Validating installation status of smart meters using various reports and systems to verify completion and identifying non-communicating meters and identifying and resolving discrepancies.
Providing operational reports on network and meter incidents, performance and service level agreements
Identifying potential improvements to existing procedures or new procedure requirements.
Daily monitoring of transaction reports to resolve data collection exceptions quickly.
Recognizing variances in data, researching their causes, and recommending courses of action to address problems with data and recording system.
Develop, validate and maintain procedure/process/reporting documentation as well as identifying potential improvements to existing procedures or new procedure requirements.
Validating installation status of smart meters using various reports and systems to verify completion and identifying non-communicating meters and identifying and resolving discrepancies.
Understanding field metering functions at a level sufficient to provide daily support to regional metering services personnel engaged in residential, commercial and industrial metering activities.
Understanding how electricity use is measured using both electronic and electro-mechanical revenue metering devices.
Supporting data research and reporting requests from Regional Customer Support staff.
Understand and apply Operating Company tariff language with respect to the processing of metering data.
