 Seeking dedicated and experienced Travel Licensed Practical Nurses to join our dynamic team. 

 As a Correctional LPN, you will have the opportunity to provide exceptional patient care in a Correctional Center/Facility located in Limestone County, Texas.  This is an excellent opportunity for compassionate LPNs who are passionate about delivering high-quality healthcare.  

Position: Licensed Practical Nurse -LPN
Location: Groesbeck, TX
Schedule: 13-Week Travel Contracts
Pay - Starting hourly $38.00 with a Per Diem, calculated on distance traveled

What You'll Do:
As a Correctional Nurse, you'll be at the forefront of compassionate care in a correctional center at Limestone County Detention Center.  Your daily tasks will include but are not limited to the following:
  • Apply appropriate nursing skills in the area and treatment of inmates/residents.
  • Operate pill calls, dispense medication, and document as required by applicable policies and/or procedures
  • Attend sick calls with the physician to see inmates/residents; prepare a list of inmates/residents to be examined; prepare examining room and equipment.
  • Examine and assess new inmates/residents with illnesses or injuries or inmates/residents who become ill or injured; refer inmates/residents to the emergency room or other appropriate healthcare facilities as required by their condition.
  • Monitor, as directed, inmate/resident inpatient hospitalizations for early releases whenever appropriate
  • Regularly evaluate the provision of medical services to prevent the inappropriate use or duplication of those services
  • Perform emergency procedures as needed and notify Licensed Independent Providers for treatment orders.
  • Provide guidance, supervise, and monitor nursing care provided by licensed vocational/practical nursing staff and non-licensed medical staff
Requirements.
  • LPN license in Georgia or "Compact" Multi-License 
  • BLS
  • 1+ years of recent correctional nursing experience preferred
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States

  • Respond to medical emergencies and provide immediate care as needed. 
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records in compliance with facility policies and regulations. 
  • Educate and counsel inmates on health-related issues and self-care. 
  • Authorized to work in the US without sponsorship
  • Active LPN License in State of Assignment or Compact License
  • BLS
