We are looking for an experiencedRespiratory Therapist (CRT or RRT) to join our team in Abilene, TX!
Under the supervision of the Respiratory Therapy Manager and/or Lead Respiratory Therapist, and upon physician request, set up and operate respiratory care equipment for diagnosing and treating respiratory disease and illness. Location: Abilene, TX
Contract: 13-Weeks

Essential Functions:
Care for adult and geriatric patients (ages 18+).
Respect patient rights, dignity, and individuality.
Explain treatments, tests, and equipment to patients and document education.
Conduct physician-prescribed treatments, including nebulizer therapy and nasal oxygen devices.
Set up, operate, and monitor ventilators; assist with ventilator weaning and maintain ventilation during CPR.
Document treatments and patient responses.
Perform trach care and change trach tubes as needed.
Change tubing and suction devices per hospital policy.
Report patient conditions and treatments to relief personnel and primary care nurses.
Process respiratory therapy equipment, including cleaning and sterilizing.
Perform equipment maintenance and repairs.
Make regular rounds to check ventilators and oxygen equipment.
Conduct diagnostic studies and blood gas analysis.
Assist with preparing patients for physical therapy, transport, etc.
Attend departmental and staff meetings.
Standard Duties:
Adhere to the Hospital Compliance Plan and report violations.
Demonstrate professional conduct and comply with hospital policies.
Follow attendance policy and prevent exposure to bloodborne pathogens.
Participate in the Hazardous Material Program and established safety practices.
Recognize patient abuse and follow referral policies.
Participate in Performance Improvement activities.
Limit access to protected health information (PHI) to job-relevant information.
Qualifications:
Credentialed by the National Board of Respiratory Care as a CRT or RRT.
High school graduate or equivalent with documented training.
Licensed as a Respiratory Practitioner in the state of employment.
BLS certification upon hire and ACLS certification within 90 days.
Basic math and computer skills.
Ability to read, write, and speak English.
Ability to apply common sense and deal with standardized situations.
