The Specialist, Administration and Operation: Unified Champion Schools will work directly with the Vice President, Unified Champion Schools, and the Vice President, Global Youth Engagement to provide direct operational and administrative support for the USA Unified Champion Schools (UCS) team and the Global Youth Engagement department. The Specialist will manage and coordinate day-to-day administrative support for the Vice Presidents, and support both staff teams in ongoing coordination of activities such as staff meetings and other internal meetings. In support of these two staff teams, the Specialist will collaborate with Special Olympics International staff and other stakeholders to ensure effective coordination and implementation towards the goals of expanding and improving the reach of UCS.
The mission of Special Olympics is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.
