Advanced Orthopedics and Sports Medicine Institute was founded in 2007 with the merger of two of the areas longest tenured practices - Western Monmouth Orthopedic Associates and New Jersey Orthopedic Associates. Performs all duties and demonstrates behaviors and attitudes consistent with the Mission Statement and Core Values of the organization. Consistently demonstrates commitment to customer service excellence in all interactions with patients, family members, visitors and other staff that are consistent with Service Excellence performance standards. Continually participates in building and maintain positive working relationships through effective communication, performance improvement and teamwork efforts. Demonstrates the ability to clearly and effectively communicate (to include reading, writing and speaking) to all patients, family members, visitors and other staff member with the expectation that each employee within the context of their specific job duties can read, interpret, understands and communicate clearly and effectively in order to ensure proper understanding, all written/verbal communication are followed and information is shared appropriately. Demonstrates, maintains and upholds expectations set forth in the organizational Code of Conduct and Compliance Program. Actively participates in the safety programs of the organization by identifying potential risks and promoting patient safety as well as environmental safety. Accomplishes individual and team goals and objectives established by supervisor based on prior performance evaluation.
Specific Duties: Greets all patients either in person or on the telephone. Schedules appointments based on practice protocol. Issues registration paperwork to new patients. Discusses patient's insurance or calls Billing Department if further explanation is needed. Accurately enters all demographic information into the computer system. Verifies information in the system is accurate for existing patients. Reviews and prepares patient's chart for upcoming appointments and makes sure all previously ordered procedure results are present. Checks patients out after their appointment by making follow up appointments when necessary.
Gives the patient any necessary paperwork for procedures, prescriptions or therapy as ordered by the doctor. Notifies the doctor's secretary of any tests or follow up appointments requiring authorizations. Scans and empties the fax in-box. Performs other duties as requested.
