X-Ray Technologist (X-Ray Tech) - Part time

The X-ray technologist will operate radiologic equipment to produce images of the body for diagnostic purposes. Position radiologic equipment and adjust controls to set techniques according to specification of examination. Take x-rays following established radiologic requirements and regulations to ensure patient care and safety.

  • Position x-ray equipment and adjust controls to set exposure factors, such as time and distance.
  • Use beam-restrictive devices and patient-shielding techniques to minimize radiation exposure to patient and staff.
  • Position patient on examining table and set up and adjust equipment to obtain optimum view of specific body area as requested by physician.
  • Process exposed radiographs using film processors or computer generated methods.
  • Explain procedures to patients to reduce anxieties and obtain cooperation.
  • Determine patients' x-ray needs by reading requests or instructions from physicians.
  • Prepare and set up x-ray room for patient.
  • Make exposures necessary for the requested procedures, rejecting and repeating work that does not meet established standards.
  • Operate digital picture archiving communications systems.
  • Transport patients to and from exam rooms.

  • Responsible for timely and accurate completion of timesheets/ time records for hours work and payroll processing. Time records must be completed and approved by the employee no later than the close of business on last day of each pay period.
  • Responsible for timely completion of all new hire training, departmental training, and yearly compliance training (HPro) on an ongoing basis.
  • Authorized to work in the US without sponsorship
  • Minimum 2 year experience in a medical setting
  • Minimum High School Degree
  • Current NJ X-ray Licensure
